The ASA Epic

The ASA Epic is a self supported bikepacking road adventure starting and finishing in the city of Amersfoort after a hilly loop through the Teutoburg forest and the Sauerland area.

A challenging 1000km road adventure on quiet roads with amazing views through the most beautiful regions of the Netherlands and Western Germany.

It’s a race against the clock and an adventure at the same time. You’ll be on your own, but never alone, because friends and family can follow you on your tracker.

There’s both a solo and pair category.

I am Wessel. I am not a pro endurance cyclist, but a true enthusiast. After having cycled the Race Around the Netherlands in 2022 and the Mittelgebirge Classique and Hardennes in 2023 I really wanted to organize an adventure of my own. Knowing the Sauerland quite well, I wanted to organize this adventure from the Dutch plains to the Sauerland Peaks.
